What Was Announced

The contract keeps FN producing the M240 platform, which the company calls its longest-standing military weapons program. The M240 was adopted by the U.S. military in the late 1970s and remains in service. FN says the M240B is the medium machine gun used across all branches, and that its high rate of fire makes it the main suppressive weapon for infantry platoons and companies.
