The Henderson Police Department in Nevada has adopted the full-size Echelon 4.5F and compact 4.0C 9mm pistols, according to Springfield Armory's press release dated December 19, 2025.
What Was Announced
The department's previous duty pistols did not fit the range of hand sizes among its officers. After a review of its platforms, Henderson set out a list of requirements for a replacement. The pistol had to be striker-fired and modular so it could fit different hands. It also needed fully ambidextrous controls, higher magazine capacity, factory-installed night sights, and an optics-ready slide.
Henderson tested the Echelon 9mm over several months alongside other designs. Testing included internal evaluations under varied conditions and with a range of loads. Officers also tried the pistols at open-range sessions and filled out a 14-category rating form. The release states that all pistols tested ran without malfunction and that officers chose the Echelon as their preferred platform.
