Springfield Armory announced longer-barrel versions of its Model 2020 Heatseeker bolt-action rifle, according to a release dated October 28, 2025. The new variants join the 16-inch model the company introduced earlier this year. Full details are in Springfield Armory's press release.

What It Means for Gun Owners
The release says the chassis accepts AR-pattern stocks and pistol grips through its buffer tube extension, and it lists the rifle as suppressor-ready. The longer barrels are the main change from the 16-inch version. Buyers who want a 6.5 Creedmoor in a longer barrel now have a second length option, and .308 shooters have a 20-inch choice.
Bottom Line
Springfield is extending the Heatseeker line with two barrel lengths and keeping the chassis, action and pricing consistent across the variants. Check the release for the full specifications before buying.
