Springfield Armory has released four California-compliant versions of its Echelon 9mm pistol, according to the company's Springfield Armory's press release dated October 21, 2025. The release says this is the first time the Echelon has been offered in California.

What Was Announced

The company is offering the Echelon in two sizes: a full-size 4.5F with a 4.5-inch barrel and a compact 4.0C with a 4-inch barrel. Each size is available with a standard muzzle or an integral compensator. All four models use a 10-round magazine capacity and include the California-required loaded chamber indicator and magazine disconnect.

What It Means for Gun Owners

California buyers who wanted an Echelon previously had no legal option. These models give them a full-size and a compact choice, with or without a compensator. The company points to the slide's press-check index and serrations as ergonomic features, and to the pin-based optic mount as a way to keep zero consistent. Buyers should confirm current state roster status and dealer transfer requirements before purchasing.

Bottom Line

Springfield Armory is bringing its Echelon to California in four configurations priced at $694 and $765. The release lists the specs and model numbers for buyers comparing the options.
