Barrett Firearms Manufacturing has released new renderings of its planned Barrett Manufacturing and Technology Campus (BMTC) in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. The company says the first stage is on track to open in early 2027. The renderings are the latest look at a project that has moved from planning into active site work.

The full project is listed in the release at $76.4 million for Stage 1. The 170-acre site sits at 8808 Manchester Pike, where heavy equipment has been working for the past few months. Barrett plans to use the campus as a global firearms manufacturing center of excellence and the North American headquarters for its parent company, NIOA Group. For the full announcement, see Barrett's press release.

What Was Announced

Barrett released artist impressions showing the scale of Stage 1. The first phase will combine corporate offices, research and development space, manufacturing equipment and processes, a secure warehouse, and centralized logistics. Those functions will sit within 250,000 square feet.

The design includes a nod to the company's history. The muzzle-brake-shaped entry foyer is based on the Model 82, the rifle that was Barrett's first military contract in 1989 and is now used by military and law enforcement agencies around the world. The release also notes that the Model 82 is the official state rifle of Tennessee.

What It Means for Gun Owners

This is a facility announcement, not a new product. For owners of Barrett rifles, the campus signals continued investment in U.S. manufacturing and in the company's Tennessee base. The release does not say whether production capacity or model lineups will change.

Bottom Line

Barrett's new campus is still under construction, with Stage 1 slated for early 2027. CEO Bryan James said the design is meant to show both the company's forward direction and its history, and the Model 82 foyer is the clearest example
