Springfield Armory announced the release of the Echelon 4.0FC 9mm pistol on January 20, 2026, according to Springfield Armory's press release. The gun takes the compact slide from the Echelon 4.0C and combines it with the grip length of the full-size 4.5F.
What Was Announced
The Echelon 4.0FC uses a dedicated "FC" grip module. Springfield says the module has the full grip length of the 4.5F but the shorter dustcover area of the 4.0C. The company says that combination gives the pistol full-size capacity with compact slide dimensions.
The pistol is built on Springfield's Central Operating Group, a serialized stainless steel chassis. Because the grip modules are interchangeable, the company says a user can swap between them in seconds. The chassis houses a patent-pending operating system.
