Springfield Armory's press release announced the Echelon Pro Comp, a new set of 9mm pistols built on the existing Echelon platform. The line was announced October 13, 2026, from the company's Geneseo, Illinois headquarters.
What Was Announced
Springfield is offering three Echelon Pro Comp variants: a 4.0C compact, a 4.0FC hybrid that pairs a 4-inch barrel and compact slide with a full-size grip module, and a 4.5F full-size model. All three share the same Central Operating Group and Variable Interface System that define the Echelon series, so grip modules can be swapped and optics can be mounted directly to the slide.

- Models: Echelon Pro 4.0C Comp (ECP9409BY-COMP), 4.0FC Comp (ECP9409BYFC-COMP), 4.5F Comp (ECP9459BY-COMP)
- Caliber: 9mm
- Frame: LightForged frame with Badlands grip texture
- Slide: Integrally compensated, Springfield Grey Cerakote finish
- Other features: Machined steel flared magwell (removable for flush-fit magazines), stainless steel guide rod, tritium front sight with orange luminescent ring

- MSRP: $899 for all three variants
What It Means for Gun Owners
The Echelon Pro's grip texture is made with lasers rather than hand stippling, which Springfield says gives a more consistent pattern. The compensated slide and included extended magazines are the main new hardware compared with the standard Echelon. Buyers who want a flush-fit magazine option can remove the flared magwell.
Bottom Line
The Echelon Pro Comp keeps the modular Echelon design and adds a compensator, a new grip texture, and three magazines in the box, all at an $899 MSRP. Check dealer availability and pricing directly, since the release does not list ship dates.
