The Walther PDP (Performance Duty Pistol) arrived in 2021 as Walther's answer to the question of what a modern duty pistol should be. The answer was Performance Duty Texture — the grippiest factory texture on any striker-fired pistol, a trigger that ships feeling like a competition gun, and a frame designed from the ground up around optic mounting without adapters.
The PDP Pro SD (suppressor-ready) variant went straight into service with several European police agencies. The ergonomics are exceptional — Walther's grip geometry is unique in that the backstrap and palm swell work together to produce a natural point of aim. The factory trigger typically breaks around 5.5 lbs with zero mushiness. Aftermarket support is growing fast, and the performance-per-dollar puts more expensive guns to shame.
