Barrett Firearms announced its 2026 product expansion in Barrett's press release. The company is rolling out a compact bolt-action, bringing back a semi-automatic rifle that was on hold, adding a .50 BMG load to its precision ammunition line, and widening its finish choices.

What Was Announced
The headliner is the MRAD Covert, a compact version of Barrett's magazine-fed, bolt-action MRAD. It uses a folding stock and breaks down small enough to fit in a bag or backpack. Barrett says it keeps the full-size MRAD's features and is aimed at government users, law enforcement, hunters, and long-range shooters.

The REC10 returns to the catalog. Barrett had paused production to focus on its MRAD MK 22 contract. The rifle is a direct-impingement semi-automatic design.

Barrett is also adding .50 BMG to its Precision Ammunition line, which already includes .416 Barrett. Finally, the company is offering new Cerakote colors on several rifle platforms.
