Overview
Fierce Firearms has launched the Wingman SBR, a short-barreled precision rifle built on the company's CT Mini Rogue platform. The rifle pairs a titanium action with a 12.5-inch carbon-fiber barrel for a bare weight of 5.4 pounds, and ships in three Creedmoor chamberings: 22 Creedmoor, 25 Creedmoor, and 6.5 Creedmoor.

Tested Velocities
Fierce tested all three chamberings from the 12.5-inch barrel using DirtNap Ammunition, its in-house load line built specifically for the Wingman: 2,810 fps in 22 Creedmoor (62-grain Hornady ELD-VT), 2,725 fps in 25 Creedmoor (110-grain Nosler AccuBond), and 2,500 fps in 6.5 Creedmoor (120-grain Hornady ELD-M). In 25 Creedmoor, Fierce says the load retains enough velocity and energy for effective terminal performance on deer-sized game out to 400 yards.
Why It's Launching Now
The Wingman arrives as the federal transfer tax on short-barreled rifles has dropped from $200 to $0, effective January 1, 2026, and as electronic Form 4 approvals are clearing in days instead of months. The NFA registration process and background check remain required for any SBR transfer — what's changed is the tax that used to accompany it.
Availability
The Wingman SBR became available August 10, 2026, through Fierce Firearms dealers holding NFA/SOT credentials and directly at fiercearms.com. As with any NFA item, availability depends on state and local law, and buyers should confirm legality in their jurisdiction before purchasing.
